Proverbs 9:17-18 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

HOLINESS-PEACE!__If the Son therefore shall make you free {from sin}, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) Then said Jesus to those ...which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, {to be holy..free from this worlds lust and love for it} then are ye my disciples indeed; (John 8:31)
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. After God's heart?
David was after God"s heart. Print E-mail

David ran after God's own heart meaning David constantly sought, pursured after, to find God and His ways to please and always GIVE GLORY TO GOD by and IN HIS LIFE AND POSITION not himself or the nation. "David was a man AFTER GOD'S OWN HEART!" Giving Glory to God alone for God's sake not his.

Command of the Lord by Samuel to Saul
:

1st Samuel 15:1-3  Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.  (God is a righteous judge and in the old testament He was dealing with a natural carnal people.)

Saul’s Actions:

1st Samuel 15:7-9  And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword. But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly. (Disobedience and a love for the goodies)

God’s repsonse, the strength of Israel, to Saul’s actions as the King of Israel!

(1 Samuel 16:7  But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature....... for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.)

1 Samuel 15:10-11  Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, (remember God sees the heart) and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.

Saul and Samuel about the matter of Disobedience from the heart on Saul’s part!

1 Samuel 15:13-15  And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD. (HUH?) And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear? And Saul said, They (notice Saul is putting the blame somewhere else trying to excuse his sin of not loving the Lord) have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people (notice it’s the people not the Kings fault which He was the King to tell the people to obey God but Saul chose to listen to them rather than stand up and obey God.) spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; (what you mean bringing these vain prideful sacrifices unto the Lord rather than obeying Him?) and the rest we have utterly destroyed.(You and the people have decided, Saul, what was clean and unclean above God’s word and command?)
