Proverbs 9:17-18 Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.

HOLINESS-PEACE!__If the Son therefore shall make you free {from sin}, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) Then said Jesus to those ...which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, {to be holy..free from this worlds lust and love for it} then are ye my disciples indeed; (John 8:31)
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. David was after God"s heart. Print E-mail

Samuel and Saul’s talking together!

1st Samuel 15:17-21  And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight [hunble], wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel? And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.  Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

(lusting after the goodies) And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me {HUH?}, and have brought {God said utterly destroy him!) Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites (only what Saul and the people took it upon themselves to decide what was vile and what was good). But the people took {blaming it on the people for his failure as King and wanting the goodies also 1st Sam 15.24} of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. (What pride and arrogance of heart for if that was what God wanted God would have told Saul so. Saul changed his heart to follow after his pride rather than having a heart to do God’s righteousness obeying His voice. He let the people’s lust and worldly desires dictate to him rather than being valiant for God and God’s righteousness at all costs. That’s why it repented [grieved] God of having made Saul King of Israel for Saul changed his heart to follow after Saul not God misrepresenting the strength of Israel to the people, sinning rather than to love righteousness.) note 1st Sam 15.24 (worldly sorrow or true repentance?)

Samuel’s reply to Saul

1st Samuel 15:22-23  And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

NOTE:

Romans 1:28  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind [to live a lie], to do those things which are not convenient; [non virtuous, vile liars, delusions, self deceived, Romans 1.28-32,  2ndThess 2.10-12]

David was pronounced King and, in God’s good time, was set in Saul’s place. (David was a man after God’s own heart for David loved God and His righteousness more than his life. He was a true shepherd of God. He was a picture of how we should be in attitude towards God from the heart (spirit) not just in vain fleshly praise and works, for God sees the heart and knows without a doubt who belongs to Him loving His righteousness (His Christ) and who doesn’t.

Even tho David had sinned against God and repented David continued to put God first in all other matters {not like Saul who was lifted in "Pride" and began to love himself} and always had a "perfect heart" [one that contiually puts God first in ones life and seeks to obey Him learning to please God doing His word not turning to the left or the right serving "Idols-vain imaginations-lust" from the heart to be joyful Loving God]. {not law but heart} David continued loving God even after the chastisement God pronounced on him because of His sin and disobedience. He remained humble before God, and a servant, accepting the righteous judgment from God for the rest of his life. Saul got mad  and took matters in His own hands at God's judgment upon him because his heart had departed from God.
