Matthew 5:8  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Hebrews 12:14  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

From the above, we can conclude:
1) the pure in heart shall see God
2) with holiness, you shall see the Lord

therefore:
3) purity of heart is holiness

When we say we are holy, we are saying that our hearts are pure! (free from sin).
Why can the pure in heart see God (who is the Truth)?:

Matthew 7:5  Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

This verse speaks that if we can't see the sin in our own lives, that we are not qualified to help others with sin in their lives. Sin blocks our spiritual vision, be assured. Sin is selfishness. When in sin, we are unable to rightly see God, because sin is setting up SELF in place of God. Obviously, no human being is God. When a man believes that lie, it clouds everything else. It allows that man to believe every false way, such as: "you can sin and not surely die", "I'm once saved, always saved, no matter what I do", "it's alright to justify myself and condemn God", "Jesus was just a wise man" and so forth.

The believing of a lie is the choice to believe a fantasy. Men are trying to live in some alternate reality fantasy world when they believe sin has no consequences. Of course, men are not living in a fantasy world, in actuality. They are living on the earth, where their Maker, the Lord placed them. Now, if I were living at the north pole, but my actions and beliefs were such that I thought I was living at the equator.. I'd run into certain physical consequences to those beliefs and actions. I'd be dressing myself in shorts and a t-shirt in sub-zero temperatures. My skin would quickly be frostbitten and death would quickly set in. That's a natural analogy of what a man living in sin is headed towards spiritually, when he believes that he's doing just fine. His belief is founded on a lie and therefore does not match reality.

Ephesians 5:13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
The Word of God exposes lies for what they are. The Word of God is light unto our hearts. It lets us see spiritual reality clearly. In the natural, it's easier to see, the more available light we have. The darker it is, the harder it is to see. When the sun goes down, the physical world is still there, but we only see a small percentage of what the physical world actually is. If it were night time all the time, would we really understand much about the world we live in? The reality of the world would still exist, but who would be able to see it?

In this world of spiritual wickedness and darkness in which we live, it's ESSENTIAL that we run to the available light (God and His Word) while it's available! Believe the Word of God! Leave behind this present world and ALL of its lies. Don't be deceived. Lies are the tool of the enemy of your soul. When you believe any lie, your spiritual vision is clouded. You will not be able to help your brother see clearly, if you are believing a lie.

Isaiah 60:1   Arise, SHINE; for thy LIGHT is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

2 Corinthians 4:6  For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Love in Christ,
