*THE LORD'S BANNER*

HOLINESS-PEACE!__If the Son therefore shall make you free {from sin}, ye shall be free indeed. (John 8:36) Then said Jesus to those ...which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, {to be holy..free from this worlds lust and love for it} then are ye my disciples indeed; (John 8:31)
For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Romans 2:28-29) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Self Esteem
Self Esteeem? Print E-mail

Self Esteem? Whom do you want to please, the world [sin], selfishness [sin], RELIGIOUS WORKS [sin] or SEEKing TO GIVE GLORY TO God in the power of Holiness in Christ
? Whose heart are you running after, seeking to please, you, men or Jesus Christ? What Glory and honor are you seeking, yours or admiration of religion or the world or be found in faith in Jesus Christ being curcified with Him?

Do we believe that Christ has come to give us self esteem in our lives to think highly of our selves in this world? If you do then you are deceived. Self esteem is selfishness, fleshly wisdom, vanity, and pride. It’s the beginning of a love for this world and its wisdom, doctrines and pleasures of lust. God isn’t looking for the next teen idol, etc! Let’s see “what saith the scriptures”.

Matthew 11:25  At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Proverbs 8:13  The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

Proverbs 16:18  Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

(Sometimes immediate or It may take all of ones life and even unto death to fall!)

2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Chronicles 34:27  Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD.

Psalms 10:17  LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

Proverbs 16:19  Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

[Self esteem is pride which means one is looking to be lifted up and applauded to be the center of attention so they can have mankind’s admiration for a job well done. That is sin and lust of this world. Luke 17:9   Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow [think] not. ]

Luke 6:33-34  And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. [God does well to you then you will serve Him? What if He doesn’t reciprocate your praise and worship immediately or as you had hoped and still is the God who punishes sin and knows best?]

Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Proverbs 29:23  A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Isaiah 57:15  For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Micah 6:8  He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Isaiah 66:2  … but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Psalms 34:18  The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalms 51:17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Jeremiah 44:10  They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.

Matthew 5:3-13  Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

[Have we seen any self esteem promised yet of God?]

Matthew 6:24  No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God [righteousness and His word] and mammon. [ways of the fleshly sensual world]

Matthew 6:21  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

[impossible to serve two masters at the same time in your heart. Either one takes all of your being and attention to serve one or the other. Self esteem or humbled before God to obey Him making Him your life not selfishness-self esteem.]
